Maximilian is an experienced lawyer and trusted adviser for complex and demanding legal challenges. Since June 2024, he has also served as a member of the Executive Board of the Munich Bar Association.
After many years with an international law firm, most recently as a partner, he co-founded the boutique firm DMR Legal in 2021, focusing on financial and business law. According to the specialist publication Juve, DMR has “established itself in the market within a short period, particularly in the field of financial restructurings.”
Maximilian advises clients on Dispute Resolution, Restructuring, finance and corporate law. He also represents clients in litigation before civil and administrative courts.
In parallel, he established the consulting company Compliance Beratung und Service Rechtsanwaltsgesellschaft mbH, which operates Compliance Rechtsanwälte and Hinweisgeberexperte. Compliance Rechtsanwälte advises private and public sector clients on compliance obligations, while Hinweisgeberexperte develops and delivers software-based compliance solutions tailored to SMEs and public authorities. Together, his enterprises now support more than 350 clients across Germany, with continued growth.
Maximilian regularly publishes legal articles in professional journals and the press. He contributes as a guest author to the NWB Expert Blog and is a lecturer for the Beck Academy. In March 2023, he was invited as an expert witness before the Legal Affairs Committee of the German Bundestag on the draft Whistleblower Protection Act.
Earlier in his career, Maximilian worked in the Executive Board Office of Wüstenrot & Württembergische AG and as a staff member for several members of the German Bundestag in Berlin. These combined experiences in law, business, and politics enable him to provide pragmatic, commercially sound, and practice-oriented advice.
He earned his doctorate at the University of Marburg in 2012, receiving the Klemens Pleyer Prize for outstanding achievements in private law for his dissertation.
In recognition of his professional achievements, Handelsblatt / Best Lawyers named him one of Germany’s Best Lawyers in 2024 and 2025.
